Kitchen Island

The owner wanted their kitchen island to be brought up about 5 inches so it was level with the other countertops. At one time, this island was a mercantile table.

Instead of extending the bottom straight up, I created a stepped up platform and distressed it to match the current cabinetry.

Barn Door Style Shutters

This particular customer asked me to do 18 sets of barn door shutters made of cypress. I finished them in about three weeks. These are working shutter that open and close. The final product will be painted. I think they really make this beautiful home look special. I’ll post more photos when the owner puts them all up.

Airstream Project

Photos were taken by Emily Kennedy

Our friends, Kerry and Emily Kennedy hired me to custom make counter tops for their 1980 Airstream Excella in which they fondly call, “Cella”. Though they looked at other vendors to do this, having a friend complete them just made it more sentimental.

I used walnut for the project provided by the Kennedy’s from their own farm. I created counter tops for the kitchen, cutting board, bathroom, nightstand, folding dining table, and a side table.

The Airstream has an Americana feel, so installing wood counter tops was the right direction to take. The dark surfaces go very well with all the furnishings and fabrics.

Hund Hauses

File Jul 25, 10 47 31 AM

This year I’ve been asked by our town’s lift-up organization to build 5 hund hauses (dog houses) for a silent auction for Oktoberfest. This is the final product.

These dog houses are solid cedar construction. Cedar is naturally resistant to decay and is a natural insect repellent which is resistant to fleas and ticks.

  • Top lifts off for easy cleaning
  • Cedar shingles
  • Raised bottom to keep the dog dry
  • Solid construction provides insulation and comfort
  • Designed for a medium-sized dog
